About the Statuto Race
The Statuto Story
Running strong for 100 years!
The Statuto Race commemorates the creation of the first Italian Constitution (Statuto Albertino) and is a running tradition in San Francisco. The first Statuto Race was held in North Beach in 1919. It has been run every year, except for a period during World War II and in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Join us in 2025 for the 104th running of this iconic race!

Charity Partner: Live Like Lou Foundation
The charity partner for the 104th Statuto Race is the Live Like Lou Foundation!
The mission of Live Like Lou is to create and connect communities to stimulate emerging ALS research and uniquely support families affected by Lou Gehrig’s disease. They do this in honor of MLB Hall of Famer Lou Gehrig and the 30,000+ individuals in North America living with ALS. Following the fatal diagnosis of ALS in 1939, Lou continued to live his life with courage, determination, and gratitude. This is what it means to live like Lou.
You can donate to Live Like Lou when registering for the Statuto Race or directly via this page.
Here are ways to get involved with Live Like Lou:
- Register to serve an ALS family near you.
